Expectations for Success *Basic Needs* If you haven't already, establish a routine bedtime, that allows your child to have 10-12 hours of uninterrupted sleep each night. Healthy breakfast, lunch, dinner....more veggies and fruit! Closed toe sneakers to school; students run and play outside each day! Snack and Water Bottle Daily Please send ONE HEALTHY, non-messy snack, that does not require a utensil. I strongly encourage fresh veggies, fruit and/or nuts, as kids need food that will help them to be their best! I kindly request that you do not send chips, cookies, treats, or items with high sugar/fat content; please read nutrition labels. No "junk food!" Portions should be snack-sized, and able to be eaten in less than 10 minutes. *Water only* upstairs. *Limited Screen Time* Focus on quality family time, creative play, outside play, social play, reading, etc. *Autonomy* Allow your child to gain confidence/independence by doing tasks/chores on his/her own (if your child does not have chores at home, now is a great time to start!) Let your child "problem solve" independently or with limited/open ended parental guidance, when he/she "get's stuck" and/or frustrated. *Homework* Reading (M-F) – 15 minutes Preferably from a book of choice, that is a "JUST RIGHT" book; a book that is on or near their independent reading level. Math (M and W only) - Choose any 4 problems from the homework sheet. Contact Information: [email protected] 512-732-9140 x 23203 |
